Via Rail

This project was realized in partnership with Ivanhoé Cambridge on a “design-built” basis. Our mandate was to renew 90 000 square feet of office space for the headquarters of Via Rail at 2-3 Place Ville-Marie, in Montreal. We were involved alongside Ivanhoé Cambridge from the start by offering our input in the rent negotiation period with construction solutions that brought the parties together on matters such as budgets and schedules.

The work was executed in two phases according to the “assembly line” method where coordination of all teams was a challenge in itself. The 2-3 Place Ville-Marie building, in a long rectangular shape, allowed a sequential work flow that permitted us to install carpet at one end while the partitions were being erected to the other end.

Throughout this process, Via Rail kept their daily operations within the premise; which included all computer operation necessary to manage a Trans-Canadian railway service – from time tables to reservations forms, from coast to coast.

The result is impressive!
