High-Flying!

This was not a typical project delivery where millwork requires special attention and a focus on details. On the other hand, to successfully deliver this project, logistical planning and a meticulous execution were crucial. Which project is it? The installation of a generator on the roof of 800 René-Lévesque West. At 8:00AM, Saturday April 9th, after working through the entire night to assemble a crane, the crew was in place to hoist the massive 50,000-pound contraption over other buildings, right in the middle of downtown Montreal.

The extensive work accomplished that day required significant technical and administrative preparation. Although everything had been fine-tuned, this high-flying operation could not begin without the consent of Mother Nature, with favorable wind conditions. Let’s say she kept us in suspense until the last minute!

In the end, everything went as planned. The generator is currently nested comfortably on its supports. Next steps: infrastructure and connection works.
